😢 I lost my largest content retainer...

What’s good fellow Creators!

I’m back from an epic week at VidCon. While there was much to do and see, honestly the best part of the conference was getting to support my friend Ayomi and meeting one of my sponsors. Oh, I also ran into Keith Lee and Leo Gonzalez.

Now, you may think it’s a bit odd receiving an email on a Saturday, especially considering that I normally send these on a Monday, but this was a rough week for me and I wanted to share my experience with you.

Here are some of the things that happened this week:

• I lost my largest content retainer of $3k per month

• I completely messed up something for 2 of the brands I work with

While I am grateful for the opportunities above, I have been feeling a bit frustrated and overwhelmed. When I first learned that I was going to be losing my largest retainer, the first feeling I felt was FEAR.

Some of the things that went through my head were:

But after I took a beat, drank some coffee, and hugged my wife... I realized that it was going to be ok. 

A few hours later, I realized that although I felt okay, and even though I don't exactly know how, this situation is going to put me exactly where God wants me.

Though a huge shock and rough place to be in, I now feel a peace and I’ve accepted that everything happens for a reason. We may not always know what the reason is, but as long as we believe this truth, everything will be ok.

As a Creative, I know this is something we’ll experience again. I hope the next time you lose a brand deal or have a tough week you can reference this email and know, it’s going to be ok.
