Itās been an unusually noisy time in the social realm this past week, so (as usual) we tried to serve up the best high vibrational plate we could. And to commemorate the last week of BHM, Iād like to share some of my favorite (iconic and ridiculous) moments of the month.

The app has beta-launched a new Creativity Program as an additional way for creators to earn coins. It aims to reward creators for posting videos that are longer than a minute, which is an interesting shift away from Tiktokās traditional short-form approach (a trick play to Youtube Shorts and IG Reels?). Payouts will be based on āqualified viewsā and Revenue Per Mille (RPM: how much $$ youāve earned per 1,000 video views). Only time will tell what itās givingā¦

You Should Reel-y #STOPUsingHashtags! Tides have turned baby! (again) On Instagram, hashtags will no longer get you the engagement that youāre searching for anymore. Add topics to your reels that are succinct with the content (and at most 6-8 hashtags) so the algorithm can push you in the proper category.
Chat with Channels on IG. Channels is a new feature on Instagram that allows creators to share public messages, images, polls, and reactions with their audiences! Itās currently in testing, but plans to roll out and expand the feature in the coming months will allow multiple creator hosts on one channel.
Like, Pay, and Verify with Meta. Meta announced that IG and FB users will now be able to pay for a blue verification badge in hopes to improve account authenticity (past verifications will remain unaffected). The subscription will give users increased post visibility, protection, and easier access to customer service.

Creator Music is available to all U.S. creators in the Youtube Partner Program. Now creators can browse a catalog of licensed music on the Creator Music dashboard to either purchase the license or opt into a rev share agreement to use the music in their videos. There are some pros and consā¦ Pro ā It could benefit larger creators and musicians, and the Audio Library option is still available. Con ā The prices for some songs may be out of budget, and there are limits to the amount of uses.
Youtube Music is adding Podcastsā¦soon? Youtubeās Head of Podcasting, Kai Chuk shared that podcasts will soon be available on Youtube Music in both audio and video formats. āOur focus is on creators, so as long as they find it successful and helpful, thatās success for us,ā.
