This worked for me, hope it works for you!
Whether you're an introvert or extrovert I’d like to tell you how you can find leads for brand deals.
Can I just say I miss y’all! I been out here workin.
In Today’s newsletter, I’d like to tell you how you can find leads for brand deals.
First you need to start putting yourself out there so that people even know you exist, this is where it’s important to know your personality.
For example, I love networking and meeting people in person. Not just because I’m good-looking (just kidding!) — I’m an extrovert so networking is my jam. This means the way I gain exposure to brands is going to networking events and introducing myself.
I realize that may sound like a nightmare to some of you, so say you’re more of an introvert or maybe you just prefer to get yourself in front of people another way, that’s ok too!
So let’s break this down into two categories. You’ll need to pick at least one of the options below but the more you pick the more you increase your chances of success:
PS - This is a snippet from my ebook which you can find below
Extrovert
Idea 1: If you think about the brands that you want to hire you, ask yourself where are they??
For example, I’m in the podcast space, I create content for aspiring podcasters and my ideal sponsors were brands that created tools for podcasters. So I knew that if I wanted immediate access to hundreds of podcast companies I needed to go to podcast conferences.
The largest podcast conference is called Podcast Movement and it takes place twice a year. Roughly 3,000 people attend and they have hundreds of sponsors, literally. So all I have to do is walk on the exhibitor floor and introduce myself to all the vendors at the conference.
Once I introduce myself and we get all of the pleasantries out of the way, I normally say: “I’d love to create content for your brand, who would be the best person for me to talk to about that?”
Most times it’s the person at the booth, which gives me the perfect opportunity to either ask for their email or a quick 15-minute coffee to learn more about their content goals.
Introvert
Idea 1: The best way to build relationships digitally has been through social media, for me this has included LinkedIn.
On LinkedIn, I connect with people that work for the brands I’d like to work with and then post regularly. I also heavily engage with their content, which puts me on their radar.
Say you connect with the Chief Marketing Director at a company, more than likely he or she won’t know who you are. But the more you genuinely comment and reshare their content the more you’ll start to appear on their radar.
Normally after being connected for a few weeks, I’ll send a DM, sharing how much I love their product and letting them know I’d love to create content for their brand. In this message, I ask for their email so I can share my media kit.
There are two things that need to happen to make this work.
Number 1: Be consistent, connect with one person a day forever.
Number 2: Don’t immediately ask for something when you first connect with them, these people get asked for stuff every single day, be different.

😍 This week Ashley and I celebrated 8 years of marriage. There is NOOO way I would be doing any of this without her, I literally wasn’t even planning on ever doing a podcast until she encouraged me. All of that to say, I’m grateful for her and while the last 8 have been really amazing, I’m looking forward to the next 50.
